Fiber Optics
5x5 Communications specializes in fiber optics; a technology that uses thin fibers of flexible glass to transmit data. The benefits of fiber, where applicable, include higher data transfer rates, longer distances for cable runs, and little to no susceptibility to interference. Fiber optics are a great solution for many applications, including but not limited to, connecting network equipment between buildings, connecting the Main Distribution Frame (MDF) to an Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF), or something as simple as connecting a wireless access point at a long distance from the network equipment.
